Don’t laugh but there’s a seriously chocolatey smell surrounding my head right now. You see, I’m a big fan of dry shampoo and baking and these two worlds have just collided and I’m not sure how I feel about it. If you’ve not come across it, dry shampoo is a powder which you spray on your hair, leave for a minute then comb out. It helps get rid of that greasy feeling if you don’t want to wash your hair properly and it gives your hair body too. I love it for those days when I really should wash my hair but I would rather have a little longer in bed.
Anyway, I was googling natural alternatives for dry shampoo and apparently if you are a brunette then cocoa powder mixed with arrowroot is the way to go. I don’t have any arrowroot and I wasn’t entirely convinced about the coca powder but there it was. A shiny pack of cocoa powder sitting in amongst the baking ingredients in the cupboard. I just had to try it.
And here I am. With chocolate flavoured hair.
I have to say though, it does work. My hair looks and feels very similar to when I use the dry shampoo. It also doesn’t smell as chocolatey as it did when I first put it on my hair. So I think it’s a winner…. I should probably do it properly using arrowroot next time though.
